However, CVNE continues to produce this wine with absolutely no compromise, and with the 2017 vintage they have declared the release ‘Especial’ meaning that it is the same superb quality wine, with all of the same ageing, but from a remarkable vintage. In the case of the 2017, this has produced a wine that not only possesses all of the traits of the best Vina Real Gran Reservas but is from a vintage that can truly be enjoyed immediately, without the cost or patience required for lengthy cellaring.
This is unquestionably the perfect choice for those looking for a truly classic Rioja Gran Reserva that can rub shoulders with the best fine wines, but at a price that won’t make you think twice about pulling the cork at anything other than a special occasion.
