An attractively dark and rich and typically full-bodied for a Madiran. Chocolate and hazelnut flavours fold into blackcurrant and damson, but the key allure is the way the inner perfume lingers right through to the finish, so the tannins are never left unaccompanied. It’s rich, as a wine made from Tannat should be, but it’s harmonious and buoyant on the palate, finishing clean and tangy, and would be a fantastic match for roast beef, middle eatern dishes, blue cheese or even chocolate.
